Architectural Works and Drawings by Mark Khidekel, featured in Cosmic Communist Constructions, by Frédéric Chaubin

This work from a major eco-educational camp project for teenagers in the mid-1970s was included in this book. It was discovered personally by Frédéric Chauben during his travels in search of hidden masterpieces of Soviet post-war architecture that remained unknown to the world. Frederic Chaubin was especially admired by the talent of architects, faithful to the legacy of the avant-garde, giving everyday objects a cosmic dimension.

Architectural works and drawings by Mark Khidekel are featured in the book Cosmic Communist Constructions Photographed by Frédéric Chaubin (Taschen 2011) and the exhibition at ZKM Museum of Contemporary art, Karlsruhe, Germany.

The exhibition: CCCP – Cosmic Communist Constructions Photographed comprises a set of ninety photographs by French publicist Frédéric Chaubin. Over the course of several journeys to Eastern Europe and Asia since 2003, Frédéric Chaubin has been searching for and photographing atypical examples of architecture dating from the late Soviet era ⁄⁄
