Mark Khidekel is an internationally renowned architect and designer with many years of experience in organizing and managing the large-scale international architectural projects. As a licensed NYS architect, with unique expertise in the field of zoning and building codes, Mark Khidekel has been entrusted by the US State Department as an American Speaker to explain the main provisions of US Architectural and construction regulations and policies at foreign conferences.

For over two decades, Mark Khidekel has introduced a number of innovative architectural and urban-planning solutions to protect coastal regions from hurricanes, and from other adverse effects of climate change in New York City. This work can be applied to waterfront communities all over the world.

Mark's other recent project is the redevelopment of the East Side Esplanade walkway. This project stretches for four miles along the east waterfront of Manhattan, into a multipurpose urban park and environmental sanctuary.

Mark's architectural services include urban design, development and design guidelines, planning, zoning analysis, energy efficiency, and environmental consulting. He also acts as a development consultant for site selection, processing, architectural and open-space planning, including architectural zoning for bulk diagrams, analysis of maximum floor area, air-rights usage, working with landmark properties, and all other regulations relating to potential developments. He applies his extensive architectural and design experience to high-end luxury residential projects in New York and its neighboring regions.

Mark’s education in art and architecture began under his father, Lazar Khidekel -- one of the seminal figures of modern Architecture, and a protégé of Marc Chagall, El Lissitzky, and Kazimir Malevich. Mark became a professor of Architecture. He has taught architecture and design in Russia and the United States.
